Euro 2020 has reached the knockout stages, the last-16, and there have been some brilliant goals so far.
England and Wales are still involved, and between them they’ve scored just five times this tournament, so will need to get firing if they are to carry on their runs.
Overall, there have been 36 games in the group stages with 15 matches remaining through until the Final at Wembley on Sunday 11 July.
There have been 94 goals scored, and average of 2.62 per games, which works out at one every 34 minutes.
The Netherlands have scored the most, with eight goals in their three Group C wins, while Portuguese icon Cristiano Ronaldo is tournament top scorer with five, two ahead of Czech Republic’s Patrik Schick.
Eight penalties have been netted and also six own goals. 58 Euro 2020 goals have come from shots in open play inside the area, and 42 of those have been bagged with a one-touch finish.
Scoring goals is great, it’s what makes us cheer as fans, and as players when you score a goal it’s one of the best feelings in the world.
So, with the knockout stages about to start, this weekend at JBFC Saturday Club, we’ll be replicating some of the best goals of Euro 2020.
Here are the ones we’re picking from:
1. Robert Lewandowski, Poland v Sweden
2. Luka Modric, Croatia v Scotland
3. Kevin De Bruyne, Belgium v Denmark
4. Aaron Ramsey, Wales v Turkey
5. Manuel Locatelli, Italy v Switzerland
So, at JBFC Saturday Club, we’ll be trying to replicate those goals with our groups and bring a bit of Euro 2020 fever to Great Horkesley.
